Home from Yale today, minus a few constituent parts, achey and sore and alternately weepy and euphoric.

I woke up after the surgery to the surgeon's face, close up. "No cancer," he said. "Do you understand? Nothing there." Such a beautiful face.

No cancer.

i didn't want to jinx anything by telling you i didn't smell dying off of you -- rank, sweet cocoa smell of ferret shit -- which i can smell a thousand miles away and never having met you, but there you go. no cancer. yay!

I wish we never had to tell anyone anywhere to go "fight" for anything.

I am truly elated by the news!

Do you understand? You are here and that is the BEST!
